16. Painting Hands

Like many moms, I was handprint crazy while my son was smaller. If I let him finger paint, I’d always make sure to get a handprint. I painted his feet with acrylic craft paint and stamped them onto canvas for grandparent gifts. I rubbed them with ink pads and pushed them onto watercolor paper. So I shouldn’t be surprised that no matter what liquid medium we play with, he usually ends up making handprints and footprints on his own. It seems to be quite important to him, often moreso than the intended project itself is. I love it.
