13. Buttermilk Chalk

“Mommy, can I have some cream?” he asks as we walk along the dairy case. He means whipped cream, a rare treat. There’s nothing like a loud machine (blender) that produces a sweet treat to win a little boy’s heart. But I’m looking for buttermilk so we can try out buttermilk chalk drawing. It’s harder to find than I remember it being, but I find a quart and we bring it home. Dipping the chalk in the buttermilk does produce vibrant lines, but again, the dogs are more interested in this project than he is, especially with leftover corn starch to play with nearby!
